 The creative director of MelMarie Imelda Maguire started her hairdressing career from the very young age of 13 working as a junior in busy hair salons. Upon leaving school she gained her NVQ qualifications in Hairdressing at Fermanagh College, and began her professional career working in a number of salons. Imelda had a passion for colour correction and furthered her passion training with world renowned Matrix, a L’oreal colour company. Through intense training Imelda gained her place in an elite group of Matrix colour educators working all over Ireland and the UK. With Matrix Imelda worked at live hair shows and live TV including Gok Wan’s live fashion TV show. In 2014 Imelda opened her own hairdressing salon in Kinawley County Fermanagh and in that same year founded MelMarie.

 

The MelMarie product was born as Imelda noticed a gap in the market for a high quality synthetic hair piece that would allow women to achieve any kind of hairstyle, no matter how voluminous. As an experienced hairdresser Imelda on many occasions had clients bringing with them pictures of big, full upstyles and in reality they just didn’t have enough natural hair to create the look.  So Imelda using her wealth of experience in perfecting the most stunning hair colour, focused on creating the most beautiful multi-tonal blends of colours for her hair pieces that look natural and blend perfect with every hair colour. Her aim was to have current fashionable colours that would achieve the hair of dreams, especially for brides who want perfect hair for the biggest day of their lives.
